This selection brings together works by women artists from the 18th to 21st century.
From working within defined genres to establishing new techniques, women have always found ways to succeed. This is often through collaboration, shared knowledge, and mutual support.
Limited access to formal training led many women to rely on informal networks. Education has shaped how women make and share art, and it still affects who is seen, remembered, and celebrated. These connections remain just as important in contemporary art today.
Not every work is always on display, but this selection shines a spotlight on women artists in RAMM’s fine art collection . Check our What’s On page to find out about our Fine Art exhibitions. You can also find much more on RAMM’s collection site.
Many of the paintings in RAMM’s extensive Fine Art collection are available to buy as beautiful high quality art prints with a wide variety of optional mounts and frames from Art UK.
