Opis
Excavations of high-status burials in Panama over the past century have revealed that hammered gold plaques—featuring elaborate imagery rendered in repoussé—were worn on the body. Together with arm cuffs, ear and nose ornaments, a helmet, and pendants, these plaques were part of the regalia that underscored political authority.
