Out and About: Queering the Museum

Description

Out and About: Queering the Museum is an intergenerational project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

It aims to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) communities to uncover and create both existing and new LGBTQ+ heritage at RAMM.

Out and About included the creation of a new permanent interactive installation. Shaped like a butterfly, the interactive stands in the Making History gallery. It showcases LGBTQ+ people’s responses to objects in RAMM’s collections.

A selection of these oral histories is available here, on this digital guide. To listen to the others, visit the interactive or the project website.

You can learn more about Out and About: Queering the Museum on RAMM’s collection site.
