Description

Embark on a special adventure through the museum. Discover 16 iconic objects with the Treasures of the Museum Audio Guide.

The audio guide is designed for those with visual impairment but can be used by anyone. It lasts around an hour and takes you through 16 treasures of the museum, all of which are marked with blue labels. There is one audio clip – lasting around two or three minutes – for each treasure.

Each of the treasures also has an accompanying video. Watch RAMM staff and volunteers tell you why they love each of the 16 objects and hear the fascinating stories that make these items so special.

In summer 2021, the museum asked visitors to vote for their favourite. The winner was Gerald, RAMM's iconic Masai, or Kilimanjaro, giraffe. Standing at 17 feet tall, Gerald has won the hearts of children and adults alike ever since he first took up residency at RAMM over 100 years ago.
